Rehearsals 2026-2027
CALOS rehearsals are thoughtfully staggered on Sundays to support our mentorship program and create opportunities for musicians across our ensembles to learn from one another. This schedule allows experienced Symphony Orchestra members to assist with Concert and Debut Orchestra rehearsals through coaching, sectionals, and peer mentorship, while continuing their own musical development.
Concert Orchestra: 2:30–4:30 p.m.
Symphony Orchestra: 3:00–5:45 p.m.
Attendance at all rehearsals, dress rehearsals, concerts and performances is a compulsory requirement of CALOS membership. When joining Calos, both the member and family must be prepared to take on all of the season’s commitments. Orchestra rehearsals are team activities and every musician makes a unique and valuable contribution to the music-making at our rehearsals. In the brass, woodwind, and percussion sections, there is only one member for each part. In the string section, there may be only one or two members on each part. To effectively rehearse and perform as an orchestra, all parts of the music must be present, therefore all members must be present.
Before committing to the 2026-2027 season, families should take note of the mandatory activities. If a member cannot participate in an activity, his/her participation in the remainder of the season may be at risk.
On occasion, musicians may experience conflict with another activity. With consultation with the executive director and the musical director, a special arrangement can be made to accommodate the conflict.
